Беременная – the pregnant woman – is an experimental art project created in collaboration with the Russian actress and artist Jannina Ahh (www.ahh.rocks). As part of her Animal Triste project, Janina invites various artists to explore the subject of femininity.
The film is based on the emotional state of a heavily pregnant woman – on her body, her sexuality and the myth of the magical abilities of the female sex.
On a sunny spring afternoon, she lies in a meadow among crocuses and other spring flowers. This idyll is interrupted by the overwrought sensitivity of a pregnant woman…
The film is shot in a documentary and experimental style, black and white episodes alternate with colorful ones. Atmospheric sounds, as well as music, are important narrative elements of the film.
Russian artist Janina Ahh stands in the main focus not only as a courageous performer but also as co-author and authentic protagonist. Her physical as wells as emotional intimacy is admirable and inspiring.
