My name is Ieva Liela. I am an independent artist and work in an interdisciplinary manner as a dancer, actress and director as well as I study music and do paint.  Besides that, I lead different dance and movement courses and actively participate in various cultures as well as social projects. I am originally from Latvia and have been living and working in Berlin since 2006.

I was able to discover my strong passion for the arts in my earliest childhood. Dance, music and painting as well as cinema and theatre fascinated me very much and influenced my personal as well as my professional growth.

Art can help to overcome difficult times in our lives – it enriches, cultivates and heals people. Therefore, in my opinion, artistic and cultural education should be available to all people regardless of their social background, level of education, age or state of health. This conviction inspires me to implement various art, cultural and social projects.

Nature and protection of the environment are important issues of my personal life and artistic work as well as socio-political matters that relate to the ideas of feminism, children’s rights, inclusion and integration of sexual and other minorities.
