Music has always been a dream of mine – whether through singing, exploring sounds and noises, or playing an instrument. The idea of playing the tenor saxophone arose unexpectedly from a strong impulse – and a touch of defiance; I was tired of seeing mostly male instrumentalists on stage and thought to myself:
If I want to change something, I should start with myself.
Above all, I am fascinated by the instrument’s powerful expression, versatility, and portability, as well as the strong, almost magical connection I feel with it.
I am currently developing various performance pieces and improvisations that combine saxophone playing with physical expression and the voice. I often perform outdoors – in parks or amidst nature, such as in the forest or by the water, as well as in unusual locations – drawing inspiration from the surroundings and the atmosphere.
