Spring has long since arrived, and summer is fast approaching. The pleasant temperatures, the sunshine, and all of nature invite us to get outdoors. Yoga, dance, and meditation accompany me daily, and I’m looking forward to starting my dance and movement workshops in the beautiful Rehberge Park again very soon.

In my homeland Latvia, the midsummer solstice Līgo celebrates with dances and songs on June 23rd and 24th. The women adorn themselves with wreaths of flowers but the men with oak wreaths. Campfires lights up everywhere and Līgo songs ring out. Translated from Latvian, “Līgo” means to swing or sway.

At the beginning of summer, on June 21st, the Fête de la Musique will be celebrated in Berlin. Musicians perform on many streets and stages of the capital. There is a party on every corner, as well as wild dancing and singing. We also took part in this wonderful festival.
