Our breath is the connection between body, mind and soul. In Yoga and Qui Gong practices there are many breathing techniques that not only serve to cleanse and harmonize the chakras, but also to train the diaphragm and strengthen the airways.

In my courses I work a lot with breathing and connect it with sound and movement. Vowel breathing not only cleans and relaxes our airways, but also releases the preassure and calms down. This technique also can be used to warm up the voice.

Vowel breathing is convenient and easy. We use the vowels “I, A, E, O, U” and sound a vowel as we exhale until we have exhaled completely. It doesn’t matter here whether we sound aesthetic. When we have exhaled all the vowels out loud, we repeat the whole thing again.

Above all, I recommend doing it in nature – by the sea, in the forest, in the mountains, etc.

The air and water by the sea has a variety of healing effects – it is good for the soul and body – especially the respiratory tract and the skin.
